Adopting a direct-booking capability for United Vibration
Decision
Implement a direct-booking path for retreats (YSH), stays/experiences (SW), and journeys/travels (UTV) under one flow.
Rationale
- Marketplaces take a fee; a direct option can retain margin when guests choose it.
- A direct path lets us capture first-party contacts for re-invites and upsells.
- A consistent path reduces friction across projects and keeps the brand coherent.
Constraints & trade-offs
- Marketplaces stay; this is an additional path, not a replacement.
- Adoption will vary by audience; some will still prefer marketplaces.
- Multiple payment processors. SW uses Yape (Peru); YSH/UTV use Stripe (FR).
Design principles
- One intake + one checkout pattern.
- Essentials first: what / where / when / price; gallery supports, not leads.
Options considered / future iteration
Email capture at intent points (e.g., PDF download) feeding a CRM.
Next step
Ship v1 with a shared intake + checkout pattern (respecting project’s payment flow).
